Lesson Title: Genetic Drift

State Standards: GLEs/GSEs

National Standards:

Context of Lesson:

This lesson presents the idea of genetic drift and the different ways in which it can occur. Genetic drift can only significantly affect small to medium size populations by a slight alteration of a gene. The main points of this lesson show evidence for genetic drift as a factor in evolution, which builds upon the student's knowledge of other evidences given to support evolution.
Overview of lesson, including: where it fits in unit, what are key ideas and what will students be doing.
